Prototype History
Apart from the very early types of ground signals the main one to survive into the 20th Century
was the half round one, in 1912 a round disc type of 12 inches diameter was introduced, Later a 14 inch was introduced and used on main lines
The GWR did not go in for yellow stripes for permissive ground signals, just had a white light and not a red. The WR did introduce a few though the background colour was soon changed to black generally for visability reasons
Available in basic kit form at £10.00 for 2 signals to £30.00 for a fully built signal with working light either warm white or yellow as you wish. and servo fitted
A ready built non-working version is also currently available - these cannot be made to work but could have a light fitted if you wished £5.00 for 2
The kits comprise sufficient parts to build 2 signals and include ready decorated discs plus additional transfers to change to different usage (yellow stripe on black and yellow stripe on white)
